I began sewing as a child on long visits with my grandparents in Michigan’s “up-north.” My Grandmother, who once worked as a seamstress, started by ensuring that I practiced making my stitches smaller and straighter. Since that time, I have explored any and every corner of the fiber and textile world I can—experimenting, mastering, and ultimately teaching with a focus on historic methods for hand embroidery and quilting.

Here you will find a growing catalogue of techniques in my “toolbox,” including knitting, different types of embroidery and quilting methods, traditional rag dolls, garment sewing, and couture details.
