In the summer of 2016 I was part of a team working to reinstall this large 13 star naval flag at a school on Cape Cod. At the direction of the Head Conservator, we used curved needles and cotton thread to stitch down every other stripe, around the perimeter, and at each star to a padded base attached to a 118 x 180 inch frame. The stitches secured the rare woolen flag for vertical display which was achieved with the help of a powder coated metal cleat, super lifts, and the work of many hands.
