This was a one-day workshop in the basics of sewing by hand that I designed and taught for several years. In a small group setting, students would learn tips and tricks for threading needles, and starting/finishing their stitches with and without knots. Through the creation of a personal sampler, we also covered the basic running stitch, back stitch, overcast/whipped stitch, and a slipped (invisible) hem stitch. Via a follow-up email, each student received a PDF I put together to encourage their progression. This resource guide included stitch diagrams and many useful links with project inspiration and information on tools and materials.
